Daughter of two arts educators and adventurers, and gifted with a very supportive and creative sister, I have grown up in an art enriched and loving family. In reflection I can see that the gift of being from my family has had a huge part in enabling me to feel the assurance and passion I have always carried for art and life. It gives me such confidence as I create my own loving home with fellow artist Struan Ashby and we share in the most rewarding, challenging and satisfying of all arts projects that of raising two girls of our own.
A constant thread in my life has been my passion for connecting people to their creative voice. I love teaching (with abandon) especially drawing teaching which enables me to satisfy my philosophic side. As a Tape Artist transforming walls and eliciting amazing conversations from strangers as I draw them in to fleeting scenes (lived large then removed), I have found a perfect balance of art-making and connecting and reflecting on the meaning of life.
My transition in to celebrancy feels a very natural extension from my community arts work. I wish to choreograph for others special times where they can feel the beauty and strength of their own kith and kin circles, their community of kindred spirits.
In a world moving too fast – I delight in slow cooking, creating a neighbourhood family and using my cul-de-sac as canvas.
